PD&F – Need of the hour for Realtors

By Mr. Haseeb Noor

Amidst fear of pandemic followed by lockdown resulting in economic slowdown, inactive business conditions, we stare at the business prospects with uncertainty and at this juncture it is of utmost importance to be patient , determined and focused – PD&F.

As we eagerly look forward to get back to active business, it is going to be an uphill task and challenge to adapt to the changed market conditions with different expectations of the prospective buyers and tenants and to face these challenges with the right attitude it is vital that we inculcate patience, determination and focus.

We have witnessed several ups and downs, as I know of in the last three decades and we have come out better and stronger each time and it is not going be different this time with slew of measures contemplated by Government coupled with initiatives and incentives by the developers, hope to see a quick turnaround from the current situation.

For now, it would be beneficial to invest time available on learning various aspects of digital marketing, make a study on various marketing tools available which will help us in penetrating the market showcasing the available inventory to a larger audience.

It is crucial not to get demotivated with sequence of events that unfolded in preceding weeks nor with negative statements, posts , unreliable news and market surveys that may be published to suit the taste of masses, rather it is wise to invest time to restructure, follow, revive transactions initiated pre-lockdown and exercise confidence building within and for prospective clients.

Immediately, prioritizing of concentration on lease transactions will give a leeway in stabilizing the business besides helping to overcome the liquidity crunch, supporting the business expenditure and would facilitate restructuring the realty business with new strategies and adapting to a changed market with lesser stress.

With the world currently eclipsed in a sense of fear, insecurity and uncertainty, non-resident Indians will be eyeing for opportunities in their roots for investments and home – “ Home is where the heart is”, thus it is an appropriate time to view the NRI market seriously with existing NRI client base and exploring new platforms and forums to generate business from this segment.

Lastly, but not the least effective coordination amongst associate agents specifically post the current situation will not only be mutually beneficial but will also propel the growth of business, in view of which building and renewing ties with associates will be fruitful.

With passage of time and spirited efforts, surely opportunities will knock your doors “ Rarely are opportunities presented to you in a perfect way, in a nice little box with a yellow bow on top. Here, open it, it’s perfect. You’ll love it. Opportunities – the good ones are messy, confusing and hard to recognize, they’re risky. They challenge you”– Susan Wojcicki
